“The Teacher Contest!” is a professional, week-long mystery contest that we run for you in the background of Teacher Appreciation Week, instantly injecting energy and smiles. Everything then culminates with one of the most joyous 30-45 minute staff meeting parties that you will ever hold.
Fill out the 10-minute setup file to form your teams and pick your date, then we take it from there. Everyone is welcome to participate, not just teachers. Keep grades together to strengthen bonds, or mix them up to increase communication.
Everything runs through email and the web, making it super simple on the administrators.
The mystery kicks off with an announcement that there will be a contest with a special SECRET prize picked out for the winners. That's all the information at this time, but everyone should look for an email the next day.
The following morning, we take over sending out hilarious emails to each of the teams detailing how someone in the school has been leading a double life, and how their team must now win this contest.
You'll be amazed how fast everyone is energized and how quickly the halls are filled with laughter and smiles.
Each day teams get new emails, new missions, and new clues. Everything builds upon itself, and they must strategize, communicate, and come together as a team to solve the mystery and win the contest
"Missions" only take 5 minutes a day to complete, but they’ll be talking about it all day. The goal is to make their week more enjoyable, not add more work to it!
The plot involves twists, turns, clues, and tons of humor. There are jokes, hidden clues, riddles, talent competitions, trivia, and contests of all kinds.
The only requirement for the school is a prize for the winning team, though you can also use the party as an additional opportunity for any extra Appreciation Week treats or gifts you want to provide.
“It was exactly what we needed! I haven't laughed that hard with this group of people EVER before! The staff loved it and it helped to cement our foundation of trust and collaboration for the rest of the day's professional development topics. Thanks so much for offering the program to us! I'll be sharing the idea with the rest of my colleagues to use in the future” --Leslie Hochsprung, Principal
“Quite honestly, I was shocked at how much the staff got into it. I have always prided myself on having an upbeat and positive work climate, but I don't think we realized how much we needed something fun to do as a staff until this event came along! In my 14 years, I've never seen anything quite like it. Thank you!” -- Jeffrey Riel, Principal
“The game was fantabulous! They jumped right on it! I broke up when I walked into the room for our meeting. The decorations were HILARIOUS! I was amazed at how much energy they found and put into this! The games were fabulous. In the end, I received a lot of “thank-yous” and “wow, I didn’t realize how stuck in the trench I was” and “we needed that.” I have always been very leery of pre-produced team building activities. Most of the ones I have come across have been quite lame and out of touch and I’ve had to make up my own. It was quite refreshing to use yours! Thank you” -- Jill Wright, Principal, Cornerstone Academy
“Hi Tim, it was beyond my imagination! We had such a great week. Best of all was the laughter that filled my school and the camaraderie that my staff who works so hard all year exhibited. It was priceless! I rate The Teacher Contest 5 stars. I will gather some pictures for you this weekend. Thank you.” --Cindy Donnelly, Principal
